• For a plugin listed in the official WordPress repository, users should not be pushed with messages like “Upgrade to Pro to receive automatic updates” when the free version can still be updated without paying. That kind of wording is misleading and makes it look like basic updates are being held hostage behind the Pro version.

The whole process is unnecessarily messy. Sometimes the update appears normally in the WordPress dashboard, but other times you have to manually download the plugin, upload it again, and choose “replace existing plugin.” That is absurd for a plugin distributed through the official WordPress repository.

A Pro version is fine. Misleading users during updates is not. This feels like a dark pattern designed to create confusion and pressure people into paying.

    Very disappointing and unprofessional.
