    Hi,

I have been using WordPress for a couple of years now but have come across an issue I can not resolve. After updating to the latest version (4.2.2) on a website (http://www.bakerart.org.uk) I have not been able to access the update-core.php page to view and install any further updates. The page does not load and I get a 404 server error.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to resolve this, or what is causing it?

    Thanks!

    Chris

Sorry a2ztechnologies, I had temporarily reverted back to the previous version installed. This also gets around the issue, but means I can’t use the latest version of WordPress.

I have upgraded again to the latest version (4.2.2) and… the same problem exists. Screenshot viewable at: files.c-harding.com/public/Screen%20Shot%202015-06-06%20at%2011.18.18.png.

The CMS login is working (e.g. can login, make changes), it’s the Updates section which does not load and is inaccessible.

Appreciate any help and ideas as is a strange issues that may stop me permanently upgrading unless I can resolve it.

Also I have found I can not access the Settings within section of WordPress (wp-admin/options-general.php). I get exactly the same error message and the page does not load (see screenshot above).

    Is my wp-admin folder corrupted?

Try to replace wp-admin and wp-include folder form new one.

Just tried this a2ztechnologies and still the same issues.

I do still have a full backup of the site (previous version) which did work. Is it worth restoring to the previous version, deactivating all of my plugins and then trying the upgrade?
