Update is not working correctly for custom users

    Hi, I’ve been using this plugin for quite some time as it was very simple and gave my 25+ editors the ability to easily find the page that they needed to edit in a website of over 900 pages. They were able to see if they had editing capabilities simply by hovering over the page. Now they have to click. And this only works for some users. For other custom users who can only see pages they are the author of, they actually cannot see anything in the tree view. A list of pages does not load – even the “mine” view doesn’t load their actual pages.

    Please consider reverting back to the simplicity and streamlined UI of the previous version. I really don’t want to be forced to replace this plugin with something else as it simply is no longer user-friendly for our needs.

    Thanks for the bug report @lauramartin.

    Can you briefly expain what roles and capabilities your user has and how you have given them those? It sounds like you’re not using plain administrators, editors, or authors? I would like to know how to reproduce this.

    @lauramartin I have released an update of the plugin that hopefully brings back some of the user capability related features that went missing.

    Btw please note that I was required by the wordpress.org plugin review team already in the previous version of the plugin to modify some user permission related code.

    We are using the Advanced Access Manager plugin to create custom user roles so that certain users can only edit certain pages. The editors that have access to only edit the pages they are authors of cannot see any pages on the tree list.

    All other users, regardless of access levels, can see the list, but it’s not evident that they are unable to edit a page as the hover feature was taken away. Now a user has to click on the page, and click the edit button on the right hand side – not very user friendly.

    I will check the update when it’s available and see if helps at all.

    @eskapism I’ve tested out the latest and the problem has been fixed with the custom editors not being able to see their pages. Thank you! I still don’t love that the user needs to click twice to edit the page, but I can retrain them.

    Great to hear it works!

    Regarding the twice click I’ll see what I can do. I understand from other users that this was a feature many liked and used.
