Lately, every time I update The Events Calendar plug-in I wind up with an “Update failed” error displayed in the “The Events Calendar” section of the plug-ins page. The update is successfully applied, so I’m not sure why that is occuring. The latest updated included a number of the following strings:

“<!– a padding to disable MSIE and Chrome friendly error page –>”

    Hi @trbryant,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Do you have the full error message? Is it something like this?
Installation failed: 502 Bad Gateway 502 Bad Gateway nginx <!– a padding to disable MSIE and Chrome friendly error page –> <!– a padding to disable MSIE and Chrome friendly error page –>

Then the 502 error means that something is wrong with a website’s server communication — the edge server (server acting as a proxy) could not get a valid or any response from the origin server (also called an upstream server).

If you always see this error during your update, you could try doing a manual update instead.
