• Hi,

I am setting up my brand new wordpress site. I have added 100s of images. And updated the page. The new images shows up on the page.

Later I have to update one of my media, I re-uploaded the same media (same file name). And, my media library keeps showing the old media.

I deleted my media permanently and re-uploaded the new media (same file name). Still it shows the old media.

I cleared the chrome cache. Still the same issue. I deleted the database entry for the media in wp_post table. Still the same issue. Even deleted the file from upload folder, same issue.

Only way it works is if I change the filename. I can’t do this, because I will be uploading the same media that i uploaded before. I edit my media and upload again.

I need to know how can i make sure that the media is updated and I don’t have to rename all my media files. Please Help!

  • Hello,

This is most likely an upstream cache, and nothing to do with WordPress itself.

Are you using a CDN or JetPack’s Photon / Site Accelerator feature? Can you share your site’s URL and one of the images in question so I can check from my end?
