Don’t fix it if it’s not broken bites me in the butt again. Had the settings just like I wanted them and now wondering what those were.. yes I keep a full site backup, no I can not use it because of changes I made last night. So DO NOT UPDATE until you have a Full/Current backup in place and take note of your current settings.

BTW – if your site is currently broken – just login to your File Manager or FTP in and navigate to and RENAME your plugin folder. That will make your site operational again. Then replace the plugin files with previous version, clear your cache and reset your settings

I’m sorry you’re having issues with the crashing. Can I ask what version caused the crash? I just released a fix last evening that fixed a crash that occurred in PHP versions below 5.3. The latest updates should also fix the settings that get reset upon activation so they persist between plugin updates, deletions, and are basically only deleted if you click the restore default settings button. I do apologize for the trouble, it is certainly not my intention to cause problems by releasing updates and I strive to fix any issues asap.

I should also note that simply deleting the scroll-back-to-top plugin folder will fix that error that cropped up in 1.1 without needing to remove/restore all plugins on your site. The settings are persisted to the database so downloading the latest version to replace the missing folder will fix the issue.

    **************ATTENTION****************
After reading Joe’s reply I realized that I instructed to “Rename the Plugin folder” – In hindsight, this is NOT what I intended to say – more specifcally, I meant to Navigate to the plugins directory, and Rename the “scroll-back-to-top” folder to something like “scroll-back-to-top-RENAMED” and THAT will make your site operational again.

TO BE CLEAR: DO NOT RENAME the top level “plugins” folder… that could be potentially bad.

    To answer your question Joe:

    Apache version 2.2.23
    PHP version 5.2.17
    MySQL version 5.1.73-cll

    WP Version: 3.9.1
    Plugin Version: 1.1.2

I ran the update this morning 6/03/2014 ??? Approx. 8am PST

Thanks for posting your specs. I was able to locate the error and released an update to address it. V1.1.3 should solve this issue and I verified on all versions of PHP that I could get my hands on. Thank you for your patience, sorry again for the issue.

It happens. We all should be thanking you for providing this plugin to begin with and for being “on it” when ppl needed this fix. So, thank you.

    – I am stepping out now but will report back if there are any further issues after I try upgrading again. Maybe this afternoon sometime.

    best regards, “K”
