Oh gosh, as far as the editor goes? Or stuff in the pages, posts. etc.? I’m currently trying to remove the page title, but it’s not working for me. Here’s my site: http://www.digitalmusicworkshop.com.
I’m trying to get my site without a sidebar too and my developer did something to remove it, but I’m not sure exactly how he did it.
I have made changes in the layout builder on pages, etc. but I don’t think I’ve changed anything other than that.

As long as you haven’t made edits to the theme’s files (in Appearance > Editor) then you’re fine.
Remember to backup your site before any update, just in case something do change.

If you are familiar with FTP and WordPress structure, you could download a copy of the theme files.
Maybe your host provider offers backups or is already doing it.
And there are several plugins that will help with backups (Example: updraftplus)
