    I wrote a short post and the read more button shows up and there is nothing more to read. I did click the more button when writing it, but I deleted it.

    I cannot find any code that says “more” or even looks like it in the code section to delete it there.

    I’ve deleted the post and redone it a few times with the same problem, even typing it from scratch, not copy and pasting.

    How do I get rid of the “read more” button?

    Is someone able to please help? Does anyone read this?

    this is the only post that behaves this way?

    consider linking to your blog.

    Yes, but we don’t see what you are talking about.

    Thank you for looking! The blog is just starting and this is the first post. I have deleted it several times and had the same result starting over.

    At first it only showed up that way in Explorer, but then it did in Firefox too.

    The link is http://www.yourhomecommunity.com

    Thanks again!

    That’s a BAD code in your theme…
    Open your index.php from the theme folder and delete completely line 18:
    <li><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title(); ?>">Read More &raquo;</a></li>
