Unsubscribe Url
-
When a person attempts to unsubscribe by clicking on the unsubscribe_url shortcode, it takes them to the signup page. Does the newsletter plugin create its own unsubscribe page or am I to designate one? Other times the url will take them to the profile page where they have to update their subscription by unclicking the list and putting in their email address.
Please advise on how to make this process simple for my followers. I couldn’t find it in your documentation, although I’m sure it’s in there somewhere. 🙂

Hi, which is the content of the signup page? Just the [newsletter] shortcode?
i dropped the shortcode newsletter into this page
https://www.jamesmillerlifeology.com/account/And is that page selected as dedicated page on newsletterain settings?
Yes
Try to send me privately at stefano@thenewsletterplugin.com the URL that doesn’t work since probably there is something else. I’ll debug the flow with my browser.
Hi checking the URL is sounds like in your newsletter you set as unsubscription URL the link to your /account page and not the tag {unsubscription_url}. I can say that looking at the URL you sent me which does not contain the user key and it is not a newsletter action url but the plain url to your /account page.
Check the newsletter html code you sent directly in the Newsletter editor.
Let me know, Stefano.
Ok. I keep having problems when i duplicate a newsletter (I had submitted another ticket last week regarding this). I can’t access the code as it appears as if I can’t edit the template anymore. It’s as if it’s locked and nothing can be changed. How can I changed the unsubscribe url or shortcode? In other words where am I supposed to do that?
Hi, the html of every newsletter is available in the newsletter details panel, just switch the editor with the button in the buttons bar.
The unsubscribe tag is part of the footer block, if you used the composer and if that link has not been changed.
Stefano.
I updated the unsubscribe url with {unsubscribe_url} and it takes the person back to the signup page and does not unsubscribe them.
Check if the page where you’re landing contains ONLY the [newsletter] shortcode.
Stefano.
I only have this code: [newsletter_profile]
