• Having updated to the latest version of Wordfence (6.1.12). I got the following error messages – Unknown files in WordPress core. The files are listed below.

    wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-mce-help.php
    wp-includes/theme-compat/comments-popup.php
    wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wpfullscreen/plugin.js
    wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wpfullscreen/plugin.min.js
    wp-admin/js/wp-fullscreen.js
    wp-admin/js/wp-fullscreen.min.js

Is anyone else getting these same files flagged? If so, are they legitimate files?

  • mine says: wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceHash.php on line 141

But I have no clue what to do about it or if it is a problem…

There seems to be a lot of weird stuff going on with tinymce, that’s for sure. It’s an obnoxious pest, has been that way for years. My approach is to just do good backups, then delete all those files provided you don’t have any plugins running that appear to use them.

wp-fullscreen appears to be an artifact of a plugin.

One of the heinous problems with plugins is many of them don’t remove themselves when asked to. It’s a nightmare. Perhaps Wordfence will help since it points out weirdness that was formerly somewhat hidden.
