    I can’t seem to find this stated clearly in the documentation so can someone confirm my understanding?
    Unconfirmed Public Users ONLY receive emails that are “confirmation requests” and/or “confirmation reminders”.
    Confirmed Public Users receive “post notifications” from all categories except Excluded Categories, and have NO additional control over categories?
    Registered Users (registered with the website) receive “post notifications” from Compulsory Categories (by default, but may change this), and NOT from Excluded Categories (but may change this also, if admin allows).
    Is this correct or am I missing something?

    You’ve pretty much got it; a few corrections to the above though:

    Registered subscribers get notifications from their subscribed categories. Compulsory categories will always generate an email to all Registered Subscribers and individually they cannot opt out of this. They don’t get emails for excluded categories unless that option to allow them to over ride this is enabled (this would be a good way of encouraging Public Subscribers to Register and gain access to more email content for example).
