Unable to upload to website

    For the last few releases of WP, I cannot update the theme or plugins on my website using the built-in ‘upgrade automatically’ feature. I have to log in with my FTP program to do everything manually.

    In addition to that (I think this may somehow be related), I cannot add any new pictures to nextgen-gallery using either the built-in uploader or via the FTP program. I’ve set the file permissions to 777 and all I ever get is the following error message:

    Unable to create directory D:/Hosting/2727510/html/wordpress/wp-content/gallery/csl/2009/12/05/thumbs !

    I host my site on GoDaddy.

    that is a problem with windows servers on godaddy
    you can eliminate headaches by switching to a linux server for free in the GD hosting panel

    I called GoDaddy yesterday and had them switch the account to a linux server. Everything seems to be working perfectly now. Thanks!
