Unable to login to admin

Hi all. Yesterday I did the 5 minute of wordpress install on my domain.

My host’s php info is as follows

After quite a lot of time spent, I finally was able to run wp-admin/install.php after which I assigned a name for the blog and then I was assigned a password as well.

I received an email from wordpress@mysitename.in stating

Your new WordPress blog has been successfully set up at:

http://mysitename.in?step=2

and also gave me user name –
admin and password

But the trouble is when I clicked on the above link and tried loggin in using login at the bottom of the page, I end up landing back on the same page but this time with the site address coming up as

http://mysitename.in/?step=2/wp-login.php

I have changed the password wordpress assigned to me at the time of installation by going into the phpmyadmin setup too but no avail.

Also tried by editing the wp-login.php file and putting in the correct values under db_name,db_user,db_password and db_host. I changed the db_host value to the ip address my web host gave me.

Finally I also cleared my cookies to see if that would help but the same thing keeps happening!
