Unable to Edit Posts

    Hi All

    got a head scratching dilemma.

    I’m working on a friends site and have a problem I just cant figure out what is wrong, even after a lot of Googling and experimenting.

    When I try to edit a current page after clicking on update I’m redirected to the posts page and the changes dont take place.

    If I create a new page it goes to draft and the content is missing and cant be updated either.

    Short of disabling all plugins does anyone know what is causing this?

    Not really, WordPress doesn’t operate the way you’re describing, so it has to be something third-party interfering.

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi James

    disabling all plugins at once on my own site is something I’d do but experience has taught me that if there are plugins with licenses in them they don’t always come back and I don’t want the headache that might come with it, that will be a last resort once I get them from my friend.

    I have switched to the 2015 theme and no luck, deactivated some plugins like w3 super cache and cleared the logs/caches and still no luck, was hoping that someone has run into this problem as well.

    Ok, my only suggestion next is that it’s in your plugins, and there’s no way to be sure without deactivating them.

    If you’re using a commercial plugin that stops working after you reactivate it, that’s pretty lame. 🙁
