• I started a blog yesterday. I dowloaded WordPress to a page on my website http://www.—.com/blog. All was well until I made the mistake of changing the URL address for WP under Settings –> General to http://www.—.com. Now I have lost access to the admin features of WP from this access point.

I have since re-downloaded WordPress to http://www.—.com directly (absent the “blog”) and the site is coming along. But I am concerned that now I have 2 WordPress accounts open (2 separate admin passwords) for the same website. Will the work I put into the original WP account interfere with my new download? How can I close the original WP account to be sure?

  • What you have done is you created one wordpress in blog folder and then installed another one in your root.

If you to use wordpress from that is from http://yourdomainname.com
then you can keep the one in root that working now.

If you want to use it from folder blog then you need to reset your urls as you made mistake changed the urls

    Choice is yours

I have video on my website how to reset urls to help if you decide to reset your urls of wordpress that is in blog folder

You can keep the one you want to use delete the other one
