Unable to access admin area

    Did you try logging in with the original admin id and password you were given when you installed wordpress? You may have gotten that information in e-mail. If not, do another install and see if you can catch the original admin name and password in the messages you get.

    Not guaranteeing this will work of course. I just did this and it worked for me. I did not touch htaccess or wpconfig.

    I tried the new install with no luck. I can view the site from the front end and everything appears to be intact. Just no access to the admin area.

    I also attempted clearing the database, reinstalling and reinstalling my needed tables.
