Un-Encrypted Button, Rejection by PayPal

Hi,

This plugin is not working for the business PayPal account of my fiscal agent.

When I click on the button, I get:

Error Message

The seller accepts encrypted website payments only. You cannot pay the seller through un-encrypted buttons. Please contact your seller for more details.
```

but right now I have a different paypal business account linked: info@iamcoop.org ← this one works; however I need to change this as my organization got a fiscal agent:

the paypal business account I want to link is online@candlestickhouse.org

Ok.

Please check quickly, as I would not like to minimize time during which the button is broken.

The issue is observable looking at the donation button used at https://iamcoop.org/#contribute or any of the pages other than the home on the sidebar.

My fiscal agent is unwilling to unencrypt, as “Encrypted Website Payments” is industry security standard.

Is it not possible that you could get your app verified by Paypal, using their SDK, so that your plug-in is in compliance with security best practices?

This seems optimal for long-term success of your plug-in.

If you can either 1) provide evidence that turning off the “Encrypted Website Payments” is viable for maintaining legitimate security (my research said otherwise), or 2) provide an alternative route such that the button would work with “Encrypted… Payments” on, I would be happy to explore those.

WordPress paypal plugins can’t work if you have the only accept encrypted buttons option enabled in your paypal account.

Feel free to use a different plugin and see if that works better for you.

@mra13 this seems incorrect based on this page: https://www.paypal.com/webscr?cmd=p/xcl/rec/ewp-intro

they say that they provide you with the tools to dynamically encrypt your button.

is there a reason you wouldn’t make your app up-to-date, security-wise?

That would be for paypal buttons that you create inside your paypal account.
