Twitter oEmbed issue
-
Hello again!
This topic is just about problem i’m having inserting twitter statuses on my posts.
I’ve tried this feature on different sites, with different themes. Same result = When i paste the url no link shown and no tweet embed.
I’ve tested this using the official WP twenty thirteen theme. BTW, WPFE doesn’t work with the twenty fourteen theme.
Thanks again!

Yep, it’s broken. I’ll fix it.
Sorry, I read over the thing you said about Twenty Fourteen. It does work with that theme. Do you have any plugins installed that might break it?
But yes, the Twitter embed is broken…
Nope. It is a fresh WP installation and just using the WPFE plugin.
(I’ll be updated for the twitter fix)
Thanks.
This might be connected to a recent update of Twitter API which requires HTTPS call instead of HTTP which is being implemented in WP Core. Check my blogpost on this recent issue: http://david.binda.cz/twitter-oembed-not-working-in-wordpress
Ah, thank you!
I’ve changed the way embeds are added, but you still won’t be able to add a Twitter embed as this is a core issue.
See https://core.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/26969.
But you can paste the link now though, without embedding it.Not sure what the problem with your Twenty Fourteen theme is, but it might be solved with version 0.7.2.
About the Twitter issue, yes. It is a core bug.
About the Twenty Fourteen theme compatibility, yes. It works now using wpFE 0.7.3 but the featured image looks a little bit weird (Not at the original width). Check it out: http://snag.gy/cUdf5.jpg
Thank you!
Yes, that’s because Twenty Fourteen adds their own featured image functions and it’s currently not possible to fix this with a plugin…
Ok, cool.
So WPFE works as expected to me right now (Just waiting WP fixes the HTTPS core issue).
Thanks again!
