    Hello. I am using the SEO Ultimate plug for Open Graph/Twitter Card functionality. I am having problems with the twitter:description field for twitter cards.

    With my current settings, everything works fine on Facebook. The post’s featured image, title, and description come through open graph. However, on Twitter (using their card validator here: https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator) I am unable to get a rendered preview of the posts.

    The error message from the validator is as follows:
    ERROR: Invalid value (message: Field description failed to validate because: text expects tag property, but not found in Map().)

    Which indicates that the description field is not resident on the page. Indeed, when looking at the pages source, I cannot find a meta tag in the SEO Ultimate section for the description (og or twitter).

    A note on a few of my current settings that I think are relevent:
    – I have no Sitewide Settings in SEO->Open Graph (other than twitter:site)
    – The Twitter Type for Posts is set to Summary in Default Values section of SEO->Open Graph.

    I’m sure there is a way to set this up so that the description tag uses an excerpt by default; in the way that images and descriptions are working. I would appreciate anyone’s help in pointing it out to me.

    Thanks in advance.

    I was able to solve this by setting the Post Description Format to {excerpt:autogen} in the Meta Description Editor. It was set to {excerpt}

    This properly placed unique og:description tags in to posts which the twitter card pick up per documentation here: https://dev.twitter.com/cards/markup.
