Twenty Fourteen transparency

Hello,

I’m looking to make the background picture on a single page(the static home page) show through all of the content areas. I have been successful with the menu area, the header area, the content area and the posts area using CSS, except for the left sidebar (widget) area. For the life of me, I can’t find where to do it.

I’m using a child theme and putting the custom CSS in the style.css file in the theme.

I’m also looking to change menu background colors as well, I must admit I haven’t gone researching that yet.

The site is http://new.chocolatefest.com/site and you can see how far I’ve come so far.

The issues I’m trying to clear up are the transparency on just the front page and the transparency of the left widget bar.

Thanks
