Turkish character problem (I,Ş,Ğ)

Hi Jeff,
Firstly, for us this plug-in to thank you very much. The add-in is very nice, I want to edit it as I can. However, there is only one problem.

Turkish character problem. That is, the letter “Ş,I” and the pressure, “?” as it seems.
Please I would appreciate if you help as soon as possible

I thought the weird character issue was fixed in a previous update.. which version of the plugin are you using?

the plugin in it’s latest version 20160408 probably doesn’t support utf… all Hebrew characters (א,ב,ג…) turn into ?????

It must be something else on your site that is interfering. Because you can see that the special characters work fine on the SAC Demo:

Sorry but the characters you entered in the chat demo look fine to me:

Most likely it’s an issue with your browser not using the correct character encoding for the page (UTF-8).

Thanks for your plugin and reply,

it use UTF-8 (i am sure), on my post, names etc it shows correct but only in chat it wont show the characters.

I see your web page is UTF-8, but what is your WP character encoding?

Solution:

Run SQL in db
ALTER TABLE wp_ajax_chat CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci;

Thank you. In the next version, I will make sure that the plugin does this when auto-creating the table.
