• Hello all,

I decided to go with WordPress over postnuke. Postnuke just felt wrong, it wasn’t a dedicated lighterweight blog. And well, wp works.

I am using wp to help people self-organize candlelight Vigils this Sunday and Monday the 9th and 10th and on Wednesday January 26, to reflect and pause and begin to heal from the Disaster in South Asia.

I’ve installed WP with no plug-ins, just the default set up here:

Don’t want to complicate it. I think categories with the three vigil dates, and people can simply post their local meeting points and information in the comments and that’s it.

I then update the front page html with the latest info.

I feel that’s all that needs to be done. I welcome ANY feedback and help from you more seasoned WP bloggers to better the site in any way.

    Thanks.

  • For starters, Postnuke is not really a blogging software, it is a CMS (Content Management System), it was designed for an entirely different purpose.

Secondly, I just visited your site and did a quick read of what you’ve posted.

My first suggestion is to please run whatever you’ve written through a spell checker. It is very tough to write compastionate words when you have spelling mistakes.

Next, apply the appropriate grammar to your text.

    Good luck with your efforts.

    Hello WP community,

My site runs on wp 1.2.2

    http://www.GlobalVigil.TYO.ca/blog

Is there theme or something out there that is compatible with 1.2.2, easy for me to change the look and feel of the site to something more reflective?

    Thanks.
