trying to install wordpress plugins

    when i try to install any plugins wordpress requires the following infomation bellow the text.
    not knowing where to find the following information. i have tried several commands they do not work. i am running on Linux machine

    Connection Information

    Hostname
    FTP Username
    FTP Password This password will not be stored on the server.
    Connection Type
    FTP FTPS (SSL)
