trying to call “creator” value

    I’m trying to grab the avatar of a Disqus commenter in display of a Disqus comments feed, which is available like this:

    https://disqus.com/api/users/avatars/{username}.jpg

    So I need to replace “{username}” with the “creator” as the RSS feed defines it. I tried this:

    
before_desc="<img src='https://disqus.com/api/users/avatars/<?php echo $creator; ?>.jpg' />"

    But it doesn’t work. Any ideas?
