    Hi,

We are experiencing a lot of issues with pages ending with “?trp-edit-translation=preview”. Google Search Console and Screaming Frog crawl the website and find many ?trp-edit-translation=preview pages showing 404s.

Anyone knows why is this happening and how to best resolve it?

Something with settings? Or some other way?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @aleks381,

    Thank you for your message.

The ?trp-edit-translation=preview parameter is used by TranslatePress only for the translation editor preview. These URLs are not meant to be indexed by search engines.
To prevent them from showing up in Google Search results, you can:

    1. Block them via robots.txt
Add the following lines to your robots.txt file to tell search engines not to crawl any URLs containing this parameter: Disallow: /*?trp-edit-translation=preview
    2. Add a noindex rule
You can use an SEO plugin (like Rank Math or Yoast) to set a noindex meta tag for any URL containing trp-edit-translation=preview.
    3. Remove from Google Search Console
In Google Search Console, you can use the Removals tool to temporarily hide these URLs from search results while Google re-crawls your site with the new blocking rules in place.

Let me know how it goes.
