Trouble with WP 3.9 editing

    I am a non techie 63 yr old woman who has a simple blog for my business. I had everything set up well and now after the new 3.9 I can’t add links to my posts. I read here about subtracting various plugins, changing themes, going to my FTP and deleting files and folders, but this is all way over my head. My plugins are all configured and took me forever to figure out. Hate to have to start all over again.

    My first question is since so many people have this problem will this be fixed on WP end so if I wait I won’t have to do anything? I only post about once a month so I can wait if I have to.

    Next question is that I have a custom theme that was done my some people in Sweden to update my site. Will this theme have to be changed to get everything working again? Or is this a problem with plugins? Here are the only ones I have:

    Akismet, All in One SEO Pack, Google Analytics, Google XML Sitemap, Related Posts by tag or category, Remove Query strings from resources, Simple 301 redirects

    Again can I simply wait and do nothing or will this keep being a problem so I will ( sigh) again have to hire someone to fix this problem?

    No – because there is nothing to fix. The issues are usually caused by a bad theme or plugin. Try:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Your theme & plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.
