Trouble with the front page

And thanks for your last support – It was quite helpful.

I’ve another issue.

I just discovered that wordpress doesn’t read or acknowledge the default front page – the one with the header – as a page.

Which means I am experiencing some strange problems.

1) I want to change the colour of my header “site title” and “menu”, but it does only do this on the other pages – not the front page. This means it is not consistent, which is quite annoying.

2) I am having the ussual newbie problem with arranging my posts, so they they appear on the appropriate pages – This is also how I discovered this problem. Because I would like to make my “front page” a static page, and then I discovered that, what I thought was my front page didn’t appear at all.
