I purchased a wordpress theme named “Opal” from bluthemes, which is different from this theme of the same name. Every couple of days, my website “updates” to this opal theme, even though I have never downloaded it. While I’m sure this theme is lovely, I have no intention of ever using it and it is very frustrating that my website keeps reverting back to a theme that I do not want. How do I prevent this from happening?

  • Hello,

You can change the name and/or version info of the theme you purchased in the style.css file. By changing the version to something like 1000000, then the updater will think that you already have a newer version and won’t update. Also by changing the name, then it won’t update because the updater won’t know to associate your theme with the one in the repository.

    I hope this is helpful.
