• Since I upgraded to WordPress 4.3, I have been receiving the following message at the top of my page. The message is:

The called constructor method for WP_Widget is deprecated since version 4.3.0! Use

    __construct()

instead. in /home3/fouwhee2/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3457

I don’t know what to do now. Someone please help me out?

  • Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Matthew,

I deactivated all of my plug-ins, and that seemed to help. As I tried reactivating them, the issue became back and I tried to localize the plug-in that might be causing this problem.

I tried changing themes by previewing them, but the problem showed up on all of them. I really don’t know what to do.

I tried to localize the plug-in that might be causing this problem.

    Were you able to?

Also have you tried reinstalling WordPress 4.3.

    Matthew,

No, I wasn’t. Any one of them that seemed to cause the problem, I left deactivated. I will try reinstalling WordPress 4.3.

Do you have a backup of your website before this problem happened? You can always just restore a backup and get your website back to normal.

    Matthew,

Unfortunately, I did not have a backup, at least not one that is recent.

Ok, did reinstalling WordPress fix the issue?

    Matthew,

I know this may sound stupid, but where do I click to go to the page where I can reinstall WordPress 4.3?

Go into the updates section under dashboard in your admin. You will see a re-install button in the top part of the page.

    Matthew,

The problem seems to have been resolved. Reinstalling WordPress 4.3 seems to have fixed the problem.

Thank you very much for your help.

No problem. Glad I could help.
