Trouble uploading header | WordPress.org

I have a header I am trying to upload, but I keep getting the message “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.” I have tried to go in the “edit” section and allow a taller image per the user guide, but that did not work.

Can anyone help?

Did you check to make sure that your theme’s folder includes a file named style.css?

And how are you uploading this header?

Thanks for the reply. I actually do not have a file named style.css. How should I go about getting one or creating one?

I had a .pdf file and a jpeg of my image, both of which I have tried uploading by first converting them to .zip files.

Where did you download this theme from?

A friend and I created it on Adobe Illustrator.

In that case, you need to review Theme Development.
