Trigger Grid View, List View etc.

    Hi.
    I was reading a forum that if I add /?view_type=list to the end of my domain when viewing my site I can control the view of my product categories, I add /?view_type=list to the end of my domain and nothing happens, it has no effect.

    I have gold cart and have grid view set for most categories which is fine, but there are some categories I want to use list view on and this function fits the bill, trouble is, I can’t seem to get it to work any suggestions?

    Is there something that needs turning on for this, or maybe even off? I have a different permalink structure in use (postname) and no other plugins so could that be it?

    You’ll notice in those forum threads, this requires that you go to Settings > Store > Presentation and select the “Show Search” and “Show Advanced Search” options.
