• I’m fairly new at all this.

Just upgraded and wished I hadn’t. Whenever I try to save an edited post it sends me to an Error 404 – Not Found page.

I looked this up in the forums and found posting stating that if I didn’t have an .htaccess file in wp-admin directory I should put one there, and I followed the instructions….and did so. . before the name and no extension, double checked everything, etc.

    Still no luck.

    Still no posting.

If I edit, I basically have to resort to re-doing the entire post.

    Please help.

Some more detail: the page it goes to when I attempt a save says:
    Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /mwh/wp-admin/page.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Any help Please!?

You may have missing/corrupted files from a failed ftp upload. Try reuploading and reupgrading WordPress. Make sure that you follow the instructions here to preserve your data:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /mwh/wp-admin/page.php could not be found on this server.

    thats mod_security.

follow the tag i put over on the right hand side to see how to disable it.

    http://wordpress.org/tags/mod_security

If you cant figure it out, you will probably need to contact your host, and ask them to disable it for you (if they will)

I will try that…..but I realized I made an error in my problem description. This only happens if I try to edit a

      page

    ,not a post.

I’ve been building a site with static pages and haven’t even started with the blog page. I just finished testing the posting option and saving the regular blog posts works fine. Does the fact that posts save fine while pages don’t make any difference in whether or not I should reupload?
Sorry about my incorrect use of terms before.

    Thanks.
