Trial-ware?

I had thought that any plugin offered here at WordPress.org was supposed to be full-functioning. This doesn’t seem to be the case with this; there is some sort of weird nag message saying “License Error : (4) license expired!” when I first install the plugin. Creepy! I couldn’t uninstall it fast enough.
