You can find that string here here.
What tool are you using to check this? If you rebuild the de file it should pick it up?
I’ve tried just about everything. 🙂 First, I tried using Poedit, then a simple text search in Notepad++. Finally, I ran a grep command:
grep -rni "adjust your search" .
./assets/plugins/wp-store-locator/languages/wp-store-locator.pot:8910:msgid "Please adjust your search and try again."
./assets/plugins/wp-store-locator/includes/core/i18n/class-translations.php:543: * Get the 'please adjust your search' sentence.
./assets/plugins/wp-store-locator/includes/core/i18n/class-translations.php:552:return esc_html__( 'Please adjust your search and try again.', 'wp-store-locator' );
./assets/plugins/wp-store-locator/includes/frontend/assets/class-resources.php:719://'retrySearch' => sprintf( esc_html__( '%sNo results found .%s %sPlease adjust your search and try again.%s', 'wp-store-locator' ), '<p>','</p>', '<p>', '</p>' )
It seems the string is missing from the actual translation file.

Because there’s no local German translation it will look into the one at translate.wordpress.org and that string isn’t translated yet in the German. You can either fix it there, or install a plugin like Loco Translate and do it that way ( I just tested this and it worked fine ).
Ah, okay. I thought that strings without translations would be included in the language files. A plugin just for a single sentence seems excessive to me. I’ve created a language file and will use it. However, it would be much better if you could include this string in the text settings. Unfortunately, here in Germany we usually need an additional set of language files for _formal. I’d have to create a new file, “wp-store-locator-de_DE_formal.po,” for this one text string. Aside from that, I don’t think it makes much sense to split this message into two translation methods.
Yeah, okay. I will add it to the labels section in the 3.1 update 🙂
