translation disappears
-
hi,
tell me please what may cause disappearing of translations?
So the theme is in English and what to translate it via Loco, but when I put Russian translation of the but (or any other area) in the appropriate field the system accepts it and saves, but when I go to website there I see that there are no symbols at all (neither English, nor Russian) even the “translated” disappeared. What do I wrong?
Hope to get your response
Thank you in advance

FAQ: Disappearing files
but when I go to website there I see that there are no symbols at all (neither English, nor Russian)
I don’t follow this. If there’s no English then there’s nothing to translate.
here is what I mean
http://pixs.ru/showimage/Bezimyanni_3807861_28716416.png (look at logout, here in English)http://pixs.ru/showimage/Bezimyanni_9487258_28716422.png (look at logout, here it was translated into Russian)
This just tells me your theme isn’t displaying it correctly. It doesn’t indicate a fault in Loco Translate. Please post the PO/MO files that you generated using this plugin.
thank you for your promt reply!
here https://yadi.sk/d/RC4Gwyh03QkGrf I’ve downloaded both files, please checkYour PO file is truncated, and your MO file is corrupt.
Can you confirm that the PO file you have on your server is 178475 bytes?
after I’ve translated several strings it looks like the following:
Russian translations either is not shown or changed its’ correct place, for instance,
logout in Russian = “Выход”, but “Выход” is on the position of “my account” (in Russian = “Мой аккаунт”), while “Мой аккаунт” doesn’t display
http://pixs.ru/showimage/Bezimyanni_2487514_28717512.pngPlease confirm the size of your PO file. I am trying to establish if there was a problem during the saving of your file.
I guess the problem goes from here, right? http://pixs.ru/showimage/Bezimyanni_8142402_28717672.png
if so, which information I should ask from developers of the theme in order the bundle is fully configured?
All the required fields for the Advanced tab are documented, but you’ve given me no reason to think your partial configuration is a problem. The presence of unknown files would not cause the issue you’re reporting.
What you have shown me is two corrupt files. Loco Translate is a file editor, so this line of enquiry is pertinent.
Please confirm the size of your PO file.
I confirm that the PO file that U have on your server is 178475 bytes
Then you’ve got a problem.
I don’t know how Loco Translate could save a partial file, but can you reproduce this?
Note the end of your PO file ends abruptly on line 6473 with the “m” of the next msgid field. Does this happen every time you save the file from the editor?
If you open plugin settings, and hit the Debug tab – do you see anything bad, particularly under the Unicode section? (you need WP_DEBUG enabled for this)
I’ve reinstalled whole WP, theme and plugin Loco Translate
When I open Loco I see the following page where I see 2 template files POT & MO
http://pixs.ru/showimage/screen0png_9459726_28720786.pngBut when I try to add New language it says that there is no template for that and should create it first
http://pixs.ru/showimage/screen1png_3843216_28720766.pngWhat are the characteristics for the template I should create? As according to this https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/manual/templates?utm_campaign=wp&utm_source=admin&utm_content=theme-msginit it is highly recommended
default.pot is your template, but it’s incorrectly named.
To fix this: open the Advanced tab and enter its relative path from the theme root into the template field. Then save your config.
default.mo does nothing. You can ignore any warning that Loco Translate doesn’t know what it’s for.
I’ve created the template and Loco sees it, but the problem is the same. The translations do not display in the correct places or mostly at all.
http://pixs.ru/showimage/Bezimyanni_4005659_28720974.png2 new PO and MO files are here https://yadi.sk/d/RC4Gwyh03QkGrf
bookyourtravel-ru_RU.mo
bookyourtravel-ru_RU.poAgain, your PO file is truncated and your MO file is invalid.
So, back to my earlier question. If you open plugin settings, and hit the Debug tab – do you see anything bad, particularly under the Unicode section? (you need WP_DEBUG enabled for this)
