transition from .com to .org | WordPress.org

Hi All!

I am making a transition from .com to .org. The website name was purchased as a .com add on. I am wondering how I set my DNS from the wordpress.com to bluehost.

Sorry this is probably a repeat, but these forums get tricky!

You’d need to change your DNS nameservers to whatever Bluehost provided you. Keep in mind any changes to DNS records can take up to 48 hours to take effect.

Thanks Tim,

I guess I have not noticed where to do that within the .com. Would you know the link?

I remember with GoDaddy there was a point nameserver location for the web address. Is it not the same for .com?

You edit DNS with the domain registrar. I’m not sure if you purchased the domain through wordpress.com where to edit the DNS settings. However, you may want to try posting a question on their forums.
