    Hi,

I am pretty new to WP, I am hoping someone can keep me on track here. I am close to launching my WP website. I have a domain name hosted with GoDaddy, I wish to use this domain name as my Blog’s URL.

What is the best way to do this? I notice there is an option on the list of Premium WP Features (http://en.wordpress.com/products/) – how does this feature work? Is the domain’s registration etc transfered over to WP or do you point the domain from GoDaddy using the DNS?

    Thanks in advance,

    Paul

Thats for wordpress.com – Do you want to self-host your site or make a blog on WordPress.com?

If you have a domain name on godaddy, you CAN use their hosting and just make your site there. Or if you want to make it anywhere else, just point the name servers to your own server. You don’t HAVE to transfer a domain to use it anywhere 🙂

Couple different things to go over depending on what you are trying to do. If you are looking to move from WordPress.com to a self hosted blog using us then this guide will cover how to move your files to our servers: http://x.co/XA69 After that is done all you need to do is point your domains DNS to our hosting servers and you are all set. From what it sounds like though is that you have a domain registered with us and hosted with us already. In that case all you need to do is install WordPress to your hosting account associated with that domain. To do this see: http://x.co/XA6K Also our 24/7 Support staff is here to assist you with this process and answer any questions you may have http://x.co/heretohelp
