    Dear Caffeine Pixel Team,
I installed your Facebook Pixel a few days ago and while some of it seems to be working just fine I have one big problem and that is that it doesn’t seem to track the purchases. I auto connected the plug-in to my Facebook page and it is successfully tracking page visits, wish list adds, page views etc. but the only thing it doesn’t recognize is the purchase which for me is the most important thing. It registered 2 purchases on the chart when I first installed it (where there should have been 4) but nothing for the last few days and when I click on the activity -> purchase tab there is NO EVENT registered. I did have multiple sales over the last few days so please help me figure out why your plug-in isn’t tracking those? Could it have to do something with my personalized checkout/thank you pages?

It does track “Initiate Checkout” but no final “Purchase”. How can I fix this?

    Thank you,
    Rudolf Wagner

    Hi,

please, check the pixels of your website with the Pixel Helper Chrome Extension. With it, you will be able to see what pixels are fired from your website, in the exact moment where they should be fired.

So, install it, test a purchase and see that the “Purchase” event is fired properly after the real purchase.

If you notice that “Purchase” event is not fired really, most probably a plugin is conflicting with Pixel Caffeine, maybe because that plugin change the checkout behavior. In this case, let me know what plugin is.

    Hi,
I just did some test purchasing on my staging site and checked if all the pixels were firing correctly. Besides it not finding a linked product category (which isn’t necessary in my case because I am not using dynamic ads) the PURCHASE event was being registered (according to the facebook pixel helper add on). Good.
    BUT!
If I now go to the ad manager on Facebook, the purchases show in the graph:

    But NOT the activity details:

Any idea why this could be happening? Your plug – in is obviously sending some info to the ad manager but why is it only showing in the graph but not giving me details and values?
    I would appreciate any help,
    Rudolf

    Hi,

I notice that you made the screen immediately after the purchase (or with some minutes delay). Facebook needs some time to gather the information.

Have you checked after some hours after tested?

Sorry to give you this silly reply, but I want to make sure that the problem is simply Facebook that needs some time 🙂

Hi, you are right! In the morning it correctly tracked the 2 test purchases plus a real one.
Great! I am still very confused as to why it didn’t track any purchases made over the last 4 days but at least it seems to be working now. Maybe the pixel needs some time to work properly? Didn’t have the problem with any of the other activities though.. strange.

I’ll keep testing but hopefully it has now sorted itself out 🙂
Thanks the quick and spot-on replies,
    Rudolf
