I can see no tracking code in the source code of my homepage and posts, after activating, authenticating with Google Analytics, and configuring the Plugin.

I enabled debug mode and still could not see anything in reference to Google Analytics in my source code.

Am I supposed to have inserted the tracking code myself, into the header?

Thank you in advance for your help.

(This is In reference to Google Analytics by Yoast version 5.0.5)

I just upgraded to 5.0.5, and my tracking code dissapeared from my pages. Firebug also shows no sign of any GA, after enabling debug mode.

I downgraded to 4.3.5, and the tracking code is now back on my pages. Other users have clearly used v5.x successfully, so I was hoping for some guidance on how to debug issues like this.

Although I cannot see any sign of the Google Analytics Tracking Code in the source code of my posts, pages and homepage, I can confirm that the Plugin (version 5.0.5) is working properly. It’s even tracking “events”. But how?

I would really appreciate if someone could clarify whether this behavior is expected?

A couple things to at least check…

    1) If you have the setting to ignore administrator traffic, it won’t be there if you view page source on the browser you’re using as admin. (There is a note in the page source to that effect you will see, but just thought I’d mention it.)

    2) Be careful about site caching, depending on where you host or plugins you use.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the note. Yes I did check on a different browser where I am not logged in, and I did delete my cache. No script, and no GA events. I’ll note that I’m on WP 3.9. My guess is something else on my setup is interfering, but I cant see anything in the logs.

Hello Steve, and thank you most heartily for clarifying my issue.

Indeed, I was logged as Admin and therefore wouldn’t see any sign of a tracking code, since I had set the plugin to ignore administrator traffic.

    Hello,
I also upgraded to 5.0.5 sept 5th and since then I have no tracking info in Google Analytics.

    (i also upgraded to wp4)

Reading the comments above: How do you downgrade to the earlier version?

I’d like to get my google analytics working.

    thank you.

If you go the this plugin’s wordpress page, and click on downloads, there is a link to download previous versions. You can download the zip, delete the existing plugin from your admin page, and then upload the zip.

    thank you avikseng !
I did just that and now at least google code is showing up in my source code and I’m getting tracking again.

Now if only wp 4.0 didn’t cause havoc when I upgraded. Seriously thinking of moving to other options….

    thanks again !
