Total Newbie needs help BAD!

My friend designed my website on WordPress as a favor to me because I couldn’t hire anyone to do it. She did all my pages and then installed it for me and left for a holiday vacation. She gave me instructions on how to edit and add pages, etc.

BUT, on my homepage on the right side, I have a heading that
says User Menu
then under entries RSS
comments RSS
WordPress.org
Then there’s a line that says “Recent comments”
And finally there are to links for “our blog”. I don’t have a blog. The top 5 entries carry from my homepage clear through all my pages.
They are not listed under links.

How can I get them off my site? I’m fully ready to go and can’t with all that on there?
