I just purchased MMM Pro today, excellent plugin! Wasn’t sure if I should use the Pro users support for this question or not but figured that free users might want this feature as well.

I’ve added social media icons/links to my menu as well as icons to subscribe to email notifications and my RSS feed. Is there as way to add a tooltip or hover effects where a description for each icon pops up when the icon is hovered? (e.g.- “Follow us by email”) Maybe some custom CSS? Would also love to see that added as an integrated feature in future versions.

On a related note, the option to have those Custom Menu Links open in a new window vs. the default of opening in the same window would be nice as well.

    Hi jaco,

    Thanks for upgrading 🙂

The tooltips are not possible at the moment, but it’s something I’ve been thinking about for a long time. I will add your feature request to the backlog.

It should be possible to get the custom links to open in a new window, please see this video (it’s not mine but it explains what to do): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=um17WP0pmhU

PS I check the Pro tickets as they come in, but I only check these support forums when I get the chance (once every couple of days usually), so if you need a quick response then the Pro support route is the one you should take 🙂

    Regards,
    Tom

    Tom,

It just hit me… tool tips are already a native feature to WordPress links via the “title attribute” field under the link settings. I just entered the text that I wanted to pop-up when the social icons on my menu bar were hovered & the tooltips appear when hovering over the icon images.
One less feature request to add to your backlog!

note to others: The title attribute selection must be checked via the screen options tab located at the top right of your menu settings page.
