• I’ve used a number of different editors that use content blocks and I just couldn’t figure out how to use this new tool. And if I can’t figure it out, I can guarantee that none of my clients can either. This is way too different from what everyone is used to to make it the default editor at this point. Please, please heed the users who have submitted reviews for this and drop it from the next version of WordPress. Keep it as an optional plugin… that way, you can gather more information about how it works — and doesn’t — with the thousands of installations of WordPress already out there.

@bluegiraffe85 thanks for the review. Can I ask what other editors have you used?

I’ve mostly used visual editors built into themes — Divi, Avada, and long ago, Headway. Headway was my first experience with such an editor and it wasn’t intuitive at all, but having learned to use (poorly) made learning the tools in Divi and Avada much easier. Of them, Avada is easier to use, but Divi has more features.

Then just this week, I had an opportunity to learn WPBakery Page Editor. It took me about 3 minutes to get the hang of it and then I was off and running. It’s not as pretty to look at as the tools in Divi, but it has more options.

In my case, the WPBakery Page Editor came bundled with the theme I’m using, but it is also available as a stand alone plugin. I’m not sure why you good folks at WordPress decided to reinvent the wheel when this plugin already exists and is already integrated with many of the most popular themes.
