Tiny calendar date is wrong

The date in the tiny calendar popup on the main calendar page (under the posterboard/agenda etc selector bar) shows the date the post was published instead of the date of the event. Am I missing something? I’ve checked a million times, and the correct dates are entered in the event itself.
