Time to forget W3TC

    Being a developer myself, I try not to leave negative reviews… but this one is to attract attention of the author and those who is looking for WP cache.

    I am uninstalling W3TC from all my sites. It’s a great plugin, but I cannot handle fixing errors myself anymore. Have better things to do.

    Could you be more specific about which errors you were fixing?

    Sure Daniel,

    I started using W3TC a couple of years ago. The very first annoyance was that I had to watch changes of the .htaccess and other files constantly done on dev/staging/prod servers. I am using Git, so it’s pretty annoying.

    Then the next thing was when I started switching sites to SSL. W3TC does not want to remove any single file from cache, so I had to manually delete the cache from disk (or remove all cached files). I am speaking about disk cache.

    And the last drop was seeing warnings when I switched to PHP7.

    I really had enough.

    Again, the plugin WAS great, and the author deserves huge thanks for what’s done. But – to me, it’s all in the past, and unless someone takes over the support of W3TC and maintains it properly – I am out.
