[resolved] Thumbnail width or height not respected (4 posts)

Default settings for width and height are 150px, which results in quadratic thumbnails. Settings a different value results in thumbnails with preserved aspect ratio.

It would be great to have an option to say that the aspect ratio should be ignored and a rectangle with the set length would be used like the default setting.

Thumbnail sizes are ruled by WordPress default settings, once you have uploaded an image there is no way to overcome the default size / aspect ratio. If you want to use a custom size, then you must set a different default size for thumbnails (preferably higher than the one you're expecting to use) then regenerate all your images.

Please read this topic where someone had the same problem with thumbnails and how you can fix it: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-network-latest-posts-thumbnail-sizing?replies=6

Okay, thanks so far. but looks like your plugin isn't using WordPress thumbnails, at least the image url is not the one to the thumbnail.

Btw there is a good plugin to regenerate thumbnails: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

Ah, okay it's working now. Maybe a caching problem. Thanks for your help ;)
