• reverted back to old version until the required zip file is ready and there is an image issue with WP 3.6.1

when products are shown as thumbnails of 150px x 150px it should link to the image of the cropped size, but it is linking to the full size image and changing the size using the styling, so effectively it is loading a full size file image and slowing site down

when i deactivate the plugin the images link to the correct 150px images

so it looks like a bug in the plugin

    any ideas

  • I’m noticing the same. In fact, no thumbnails are created, or uploaded to s3. Is this behavior by design, or is it a bug?

it used to work, but doesnt seem to do it any more

you need to report it on github support so the creator sees it, I put a post on there

I’m not able to recreate this issue. Could you try disabling all the other plugins to see if that fixes it?

Also, could you post a screenshot of your settings screen? If you don’t want to post it here, you could send it to http://bradt.ca/contact/.

Nevermind, I just recreated it on one of my test installs. I’ll try figure it out, fix it and get a release out soon.

After digging into it, it turns out I had some code in my theme that was specifically preventing alternate images sizes from being creating, so I’m back to square one, unable to recreate the issue. So, if you could please try disabling all other plugins and send me a screenshot of your settings screen, that would be helpful.

i have tried disabling plugins one by one and all but no difference, sorry still same issue

    thanks

To be certain, can you try activating the Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Twelve theme AND disabling all your plugins except the Amazon ones? This will rule out the possibility that it is something in your theme or plugins causing the issue.

    hi

I have three different live sites running it and all are the same issue, each has different theme, I cant change over themes as it is too risky on live sites, this is why it took me a while to reply about plugins as I had to pick quiet times.

my themes are commercial ones, so not sure if you want to IM me and I can tell you which themes they are ?

    thanks

There is no magic bullet in these situations. This is just the start of basic troubleshooting and is a process of elimination deliberately designed to locate the root cause as quickly as possible by first removing the most obvious and common culprits via a series of (often) temporary steps.

Do you want to locate and, hopefully, fix the problem on your site? If “yes”, then please help us to help you and carry out the changes that we suggest.

Your theme & plugin settings are saved in your database and should be retained for future use.

    hi Esmi

of course i do however on live sites people are shopping on i cant go swapping themes around as i will lose customers, my sites are not for testing as i would lose customers, whilst I will do what I can i cant afford to lose customers in one of the deepest recessions in history as we are all fighting for custom, sorry

one thing i can say this problem only started since updating plugin and WP so maybe something changed in WP ?

    thanks

It will take less than 5 minutes to run the test requested.

@esmi That’s bad advice. You don’t know how much it could cost them if their site is down for 5 minutes. It could be very costly. Pressuring them to do it is not cool.

@scruffy1 Perhaps you have a dev or staging environment where you could try recreating the issue?

The site will not be down, fer Pete’s sake. It will just look different for 5 minutes!

    Brad

just a thought it could be this plugin conflicting

    http://codecanyon.net/item/multiple-images-per-variation-for-woocommerce/2867927?ref=jamesckemp

i used to use another multi image but that was not working with your plugin so i got this one instead, it could be the problem, the only thing is i dont have a development site i can run a proper test on, the guy who writes the plugin is a great guy and i should imagine he might be open to working with you if it is the issue

    thanks

    (@bradt)

@scruffy1 If you could setup a dev site and test it, that would be great. That’s precisely why most developers have dev sites. 🙂
