Third front page widget area appears huge
-
Hi,
I Have added a simple image in my Front page widget areas (using text widget). The first two front page widget areas appear fine, but the last one’s image appears huge.Everything was working fine until I tried to add anchor tags before the image tags. When I published the website, the 3rd image suddenly became huge and I could not find the anchor tags in the text widget anymore.
Also, I have added a post slider for the Events category of my blog, but the first entry is showing blank in this one. I have no idea why. There is no blank entry for events category.
Can someone please guide me?
Here is the screenshot:

Thanks a ton!

Here is the HTML that is generating.
The “Aside” element for the third widget area has vanished after applying anchor tags. How do I fix this and make it look like the first two widget areas?
<div id=”secondary” class=”widget-area front-widget-area” role=”complementary”>
<div id=”widget-area-5″ class=”widget-area”>
<aside id=”text-19″ class=”widget widget_text”><h3 class=”widget-title”>Blog</h3> <div class=”textwidget”>
</div>
</aside> </div><!– widget-area-5 –><div id=”widget-area-6″ class=”widget-area”>
<aside id=”text-20″ class=”widget widget_text”><h3 class=”widget-title”>Tutorials</h3> <div class=”textwidget”><http://www.w3schools.com/css/img_fjords.jpg” />
</div>
</aside> </div><!– widget-area-6 –><div id=”widget-area-7″ class=”widget-area”>
<aside id=”text-21″ class=”widget widget_text”><h3 class=”widget-title”>Shop</h3> <div class=”textwidget”>
</div>
</aside> </div><!– #widget-area-7 –>

No, but if you post a username and password here, I can delete it right away. 🙂 I will be here for at least another 45 minutes.
Okay. 🙂

Sorry for the little delay. My internet is acting weird. Again, thanks for helping me.

My first suggestion would be to remove the code from the problematic widget entirely and try re-adding it. If it still doesn’t work, paste the code you’re putting in the widget here — between code tags — and I’ll have a look.
Your site does not appear to be password-protected so I’m able to see it without a login.
If I view your page’s browser source, there are some syntax errors you can see in red:
I see an unclosed anchor tag in the Tutorials widget, which I think is throwing things off. Can you try going into that widget and removing it completely?
I will tell you what I did:
Foe the 3 front page widget areas, I decided to add 3 text widgets and in those three text widgets, I added simple image tags.
Later I realised that i need to link those images to my pages so I did this:
< a href="" > < i m g src="http://www.google.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/unnamed-2.jpg" /></a>I did this for each of the 3 image tags. When I saved and refreshed my website, the third widget image appeared HUGE and when I again tried to modify the image tag and anchor tag, I could not find the anchor tag anymore. Can you please let me know where in the internal files can I correct that syntax of anchor tag?
I’m not sure why you can’t see the anchor tag in the text widget any longer, but if completely removing and re-adding the code isn’t working, you can try deleting the text widget and adding a new one.
Hi,
Thanks for pointing that out! I have removed it. Let me see now. I will get back to you.
Thanks!Everything looks good now – let me know if you’re set!
Thanks a ton. I was so stressed over it, my eyes couldn’t catch that one small anchor tag even though I checked it so many times. Been working on this theme for hours now..
Anyway, thanks a lot!!!
My pleasure! Always helps to have another set of eyes on something like this.
I recommend viewing browser source in Firefox when something like this happens, as it puts syntax errors in red and often helps pinpoint the source of the problem.
Good luck with your site launch!
Thanks. 🙂
