Themes making pages a menu

    I cant do link because I am using a theme that is not doing this.
    Most themes, espeically the default 2017 and such, show a very long list of PAGES at the top as a gigantic menu. I have no menus. Every page is a menu item. This ia the case on most every theme I try. I cant figure it out.
