Are you sure they are themes and not pre-1.5 version styles?
Where did you find them?
Check via FTP for twin folder, i.e. sometimes during the upload there are double folders created, like:
wp-content/themes/indexnet/indexnet <== wrong!

I got the 2 new themes: Blocked-1.0 and Indexnet-1.0 off of the website http://themes.wordpress.net/
They indicate 1.0 is that a problem?
If you got them from that site – they are themes.
What about my second question/suggestion?
http://africanamericanopinion.com/wp-content/themes/
no files inside the 2 directorys….
upload the files 😛

Just a little confused. What does upload the files 😛 mean?
it means use your ftp client to send the files to your web space. You have the directories but there isnt any files inside of them. Thats exactly what that error told you, “Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.”
You havent “uploaded” any files to those directories.

Thanks I will upload again.
If you have a directory named “www” do NOT upload them to www/wp-content/themes/…
they go in htdocs/wp-content/themes/etc.. or something similar.
Ill go get coffee, take the dogs out, make breakfast, lunch and dinner, while I wait for a semblance of a reply.

I was still banging my head on the desk. I’m now following your guidance. thanks for all your help.
I’ve got a different rather bizarre theme (or display?) related problem. Since upgrading to 2.0.4 (I believe that’s when it started), my home page (hosted off-site) is almost entirely in italics, including the side bar. I’m using “Almost Spring” but the problem remains if I change to another theme, and also when I change back. New posts do not appear in italics, and other pages are not italicized (except where I have inserted the ital code). I can’t figure this one out. Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.
Just FYI, if anyone wants to see the problem I’m talking about, the site URL is http://musiclanguage.net. Thanks in advance.
You have an <em> tag at the end of your “Di Dio…” post.
