theme plugins?

downloaded 3 different themes three different times from wordpress theme directory.(atahualpa,fusion,pixled) One at a time and each one said I uploaded right. Then I activated it….but nothing was there. Went to plug in page nothing, went to theme page and had same old themes. I deleted them out tried each one by themselves again and nothing. Any suggestions would appreciated. Thanks
